iStats App Reviews
Indeed, it gives you your stats. But unlike what it is advertised, you cant customize anything. The app is on or off! … And if you do try to clic on the icon in the menu bar, or anyware on the apps window, its beach ball time. I use to have a widget that did a better job! Work on it guys!
Wheres the CPU temps?
Where is the CPU temperature information? Thats why I bought this darn app.
This application is slow, unreliable, poorly designed, and just doesnt work in most situations. For instance many of the switches in the settings tab do not work, if you exitout the main view you cannot get it back without restarting the application, and it is excruciatingly slow. Garbage
I thought this was something like iStat menu, but its not that good. Notification area is cropped by the screen border and there are no preferences or simple notification icons to put on the bar. 5 stars when it will be upgraded to fix the wrong crop and it will give preferences to set notification icons.
This is an app with great potential, but it is resource hungry. It takes up around 30% CPU while it is running. Also, it is an app AND a menubar thing. Meaning the iStats app is running in the dock. Menumeters and Statbar are nice apps because they are efficient, and dont run from the dock. Give it an update and Ill change my review! Thanks
I love it but
I love this app and it does hg much cpu or ram, except when i click it in my menubar and it starts eating up 60 or 70 percent of my cpu.
good application.,,,,,,, but have many option such as battery, fan speed, temperate sensor, network option& etc AND SHOW OPTION IN MENU BAR please UPDATE .,,,,,,,,,,, beeter than old version please SHOW OPTION IN MENU BAR dond forget fan speed,….
waste of money!!!
always lagging when i use it.. waste of money
I installed iStats on a iMac 27" 2.66G 4Core i5 with 20G 1067 MZ DDR3 running 10.8.3. I used it to test a major rebuild for my Apreture database for 300G files which eats up siginificant system resources. I discovered that iStats works great for the first 5 seconds, it then hangs and no longer update itself. Everything stops with the exception of the fancy graphics for the disk read/write and network in/out. I have to close the window, restart and it resumes operation for another 5 seconds then the app hangs up again. The app is useful but some minor bugs needs to be fixed. If not, I will have to open and close the app every few seconds. I hope it will be fixed soon. also, please have an option to select language instead of default to the standard anguage option the system has. John
DOES NOT WORK ON OS X 10.9
Keeps locking up on 2012 Macbook Pro running OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) with 2.9GHz Intel Core i7 with 8 GB RAM.
Crashes every time I attempt to show in menu bar, which is the whole point of using this… So I don’t have to click something to see the current stats, everytime I try just crashes again. Please fix and it will be good.
I bought this due to a high recommendation from a pure Apple geek (and good guy). However, Crashes from the get go and does not even show up under the “Force Quit” sooooo it becomes reboot time. Deleted, reloaded.. ditto.
I thought this was going to be "the one" I wanted to monitor mainly memory. I have both a MacPro Late 2011 and a brand new Late 2013, both with Mavericks 10.9.2. The app simply stops reporitng values. It will show, say 4 GB memory. Then 4 hours later after Ive been working, it shows the same. Skepitcal, I click on it, then all the sudden it updates. So the portion that runs in the menu bar (the entire POINT of having this) wont update, sort of hangs/freezes and stops showing current info. Uninstall.
